What Are XAR450 Wear Plates? How Are Wear Plates Used?

XAR450, one of the wear plates, retains almost all the properties of XAR400. Some of the reasons why users prefer XAR450 are as follows;

Its hardness value is higher.

Upgrading to XAR450 allows you to extend service life and design lighter structures, or in some cases benefit from both features. A longer wear life means an even longer usage period. Wear life improvements of up to 50%, and even higher in some applications, have been observed. By enabling the use of thinner plates for lighter equipment production, it provides lower weight, higher load capacity, and increased profitability.

Its service life is longer compared to XAR400. In today’s market, where economical products are preferred, the longer wear life reduces maintenance and equipment replacement costs, resulting in savings.

As with XAR400, the same welding methods can be used for XAR450 (submerged arc welding, gas metal arc welding, etc.). In addition, it can be cut using all cutting methods (oxy-fuel, plasma, laser, and water jet). During upgrading, if the bending force values of XAR400 are used, the plate thickness can be reduced by 6%.

XAR450 may lose performance and experience a reduction in properties at temperatures exceeding 250 degrees, reverting to the characteristics of XAR400. Therefore, it should not be exposed to such temperatures.
